Flutist Woo Yeon Milk Yoo graduated from Yewon School and attended the first year at Seoul Arts High School before moving to the United States, where she graduated with a Bachelor’s, Master’s, and Artist Diploma under Paula Robison at the New England Conservatory. After returning to Korea, she completed her doctoral studies under Hye ri Yoon at Seoul National University’s College of Music. She has performed solo recitals in Boston, USA, and played with the Borromeo String Quartet. As an orchestral musician, she has performed with renowned conductors such as Leonard Slatkin, Hugh Wolff, Stefan Asbury, Ken-David Masur, and Joshua Weilerstein. She won third prize at the Kuhlau International Flute Competition and was invited to perform at the 2020 Daegu World Orchestra Series.
Woo Yeon Milk Yoo is also distinguished in chamber music and is currently active as a member of the contemporary music Ensemble TIMF and Ensemble Blank. She is a next-generation representative flutist who expands her performance spectrum through projects that integrate media art and music, continuing her creative activities.
